ORDINANCE 207-08
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER FREEHOLD, IN THE COUNTY OF MONMOUTH, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $108,085.00 THEREFORE FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL RESERVE FUND
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER FREEHOLD IN THE COUNTY OF MONMOUTH, NEW JERSEY, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Township of Upper Freehold, in the County of Monmouth, New Jersey, (hereinafter the "Township") hereby authorizes the acquisition described in Section 2(a) of this ordinance (hereinafter the "Purpose") to be undertaken by the Township as a general improvement. The Township hereby appropriates the sum of $ 108,085.00 for this purpose from the following sources:
1. $108,085.00 from the Reserve for Emergency Equipment and Appurtenances in the General Capital Fund
as the appropriation made for the Purpose described in Section 2(a). No down payment is required for this improvement pursuant to the Local Bond Law.
SECTION 2. (a) The Purpose hereby authorized and for which funds are hereby appropriated is for the acquisition of a Brush Truck for use by the Hope Fire Company #1, Inc.
(b) The estimated cost of the Purpose is equal to the amount of the appropriation herein made therefor.
SECTION 3. All grant monies from the County of Monmouth, the State of New Jersey or the United States of America, or any of their agencies, or from any other source, in aid of such Purpose, shall be applied to the payment of the cost of such Purpose.
SECTION 4. The capital budget of the Township of Upper Freehold is hereby amended to conform with the provisions of this ordinance to the extent of any inconsistency herewith.
SECTION 5. The following additional matters are hereby determined, declared, recited and stated:
(a) The Purpose described in Section 2 of this ordinance is not a current expense. It is a Purpose that the Township may lawfully undertake as a capital project and no part of the cost thereof has been or shall be specially assessed on property specially benefited thereby.
(b) An aggregate amount not exceeding $979.00 for items of expense listed in and permitted under N.J.S.A. 40A:2-20 is included in the estimated costs indicated herein for the Purpose.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication according to law.
